I saw some clips from it on IMDB. Those were some of the most bleak, depressing and beautifully humorous clips I’ve seen in a rather long time. It got 90% on RottenTomatoes. This film is on DVD which means it slipped by my radar. I’m losing my game, I hate getting old. And while I’m at it—by which I mean my old age—can Hollywood do me a favor and make a couple more films like this a year. Am I asking for too much?

When I heard the award of “Green Car of the Year”, this wasn’t what I had in mind. So why did Green Car Journal give the award to the Tahoe Hybrid? Well, they say that it’s deserving because the Tahoe Hybrid gets “50 percent better fuel economy than a Tahoe powered by a standard 5.3-liter V-8″ and it has “a fuel efficiency improvement of up to 30 percent compared to similar vehicles equipped with a standard V-8″. That all sounds well and good on paper. But 50% improvement upon an embarrassing 14mpg is little to boast about.

If I had things my way, Bill Richardson would have endorsed Obama last week. That would sway more Latino voters towards Obama and he could have carried Texas. I caucused for the first time last night. It was incredible. The room was packed and the atmosphere was chaotic. Once again, Travis county comes through and overwhelmingly supported Obama. I love Austin. But Dallas and Houston stepped up as well.

Okay, not really. But when she says McCain is better than Obama it just makes me feel like that her goal isn’t to make things better in this country, but it’s some sort of scheme to get into the White House. It seems that she would do anything—even throw away the party that she is a part of—to meet her personal goal. I don’t want another president like that. There are rumors that if she looses the primary, she isn’t going to help the party too much in hopes that McCain will win so she can run again in 4 years. So far she hasn’t done anything to lead me away from that assumption, and that is a total bullshit move on her part.

Go vote for Obama today and don’t forget to caucus!

I’m not so much a fan of westerns. I know that some of them are really good, that they’re classics, blah blah blah… I just don’t enjoy them that much. The other day I was clicking through my recommendations on Netflix, and this is what I saw. Not cool Netflix, not cool.

I’ve played my share of games, a lot of them pretty gory and violent. I would be the first person to tell you that no matter how violent the game is, it doesn’t desensitize me from real life violence or make me want to actually kill people.

I was working my way through the seasons of Law and Order SVU and came across an episode where the crime is an exact reenactment of a fictional video game called “Intensity”. There’s no doubt that Intensity is supposed to be a parody of Grand Theft Auto. But in the show, the main goal of Intensity is to drive your car into a women, beat her, then collect money from her purse. Who would ever make a game like that? The scene where the detectives first found out about the game involves a little kid playing the game while explaining everything he’s doing with a weird glee: “I’m driving along, I see a women. So, I run her over. I get out of the car. To get her money, I got to knock her out first so she can’t fight back. Then I get her purse. Look, my money supply just went up!”

I could not believe it when I saw these ads during the Super Bowl. How these commercials were ever approved is beyond me. The first one depicts these bamboo selling pandas with horribly stereotypical Chinese accent. And the other one shows an Indian man in a lowly sales job trying to make enough money to feed his seven kids. You be the judge.

Maybe I’m wrong about this, but MTV use to play music right? Other than TRL, the only time MTV plays music videos now is between 5:30AM and 8AM. And even on TRL the videos are sparsely sprinkled into a big pile of shit. The rest of the day MTV is filled with huge blocks of Cribs, Pimp My Ride, My Super Sweet 16, or Next. Unless it’s during the Real World season in which case it’s a bjillion hours of the Real World… none stop. And what the hell is wrong with all of the MTV ads? Am I getting too old to understand what kids are into these days? Because most of the MTV spots make absolutely no sense.

And another thing, I don’t know if you noticed, but it seems like most of the shows on MTV are edited for kids with ADD. Every show is full of super quick cuts. Shots that last longer than 2 seconds are far and few between. If you don’t notice this it might be okay, but as soon as you realize just how fast these cuts are it gets annoying real quick. I feel like a kid can develop ADD just by watching these shows. End of rant.

A new trailer for Soul Calibur 4 is out and it’s video proof that Darth Vader and Yoda will be playable characters. Am I the only one who thinks this is retarded? Sure, the light saber wielding characters could be fun. Weapons aside, I can see Yoda on the 360 jumping all over the place kinda like Talim and Vader on the PS3 probably has a fighting style similar to Siegfried.

I saw this ridiculous commercial for Tampax on TV just now. It’s about how girls in Africa are missing school each month because of their period apparently because they don’t have Tampons. Not having a vagina, I couldn’t even come close to understanding how annoying periods are (or aren’t, I don’t know). But their period isn’t the biggest problem these kids have to deal with.

Upon further investigation, it turns out that the proceed will go towards hygiene products in addition to sex ed programs, schools, dorms, clean water and the likes. So maybe it’s not so bad. But I didn’t get that from the 30 second TV spot. I thought when you buy tampons they’ll give African girls tampons. Which is good, to be sure, but let’s not compare Tampax with food, water, and life saving medicine. Tampax: good intention, conceited ad. Although, it still seems like a half-assed attempt at using the image of poor African girls to sell Tampons.
