Do I really need to say anything else? If you can’t get excited about a film about an assassin nicknamed “The Baker”, then there is no helping you.

The Savages

I saw some clips from it on IMDB. Those were some of the most bleak, depressing and beautifully humorous clips I’ve seen in a rather long time. It got 90% on RottenTomatoes. This film is on DVD which means it slipped by my radar. I’m losing my game, I hate getting old. And while I’m at it—by which I mean my old age—can Hollywood do me a favor and make a couple more films like this a year. Am I asking for too much?

Okay that game THAT JUST HAPPENED ranks up there with the Steve Kerr heroics in game 6 against Dallas in the conference finals in 2003 when he came in cold and drained those four threes…

AND it ranks up there with the 2003 western conference semis game 6 against the Lakers when that Kevin Willis putback dunk in the 4th quarter as Shaq was watching caused young Kobe and Derek Fisher to cry…

AND it ranks up there with Jaren “Bazooka” Jackson going crazy from long distance against both the Lakers and Blazers in the 1999 playoffs…

AND it ranks up there with Manu slicing and dicing the Pistons in games 1 & 2 of the 2005 finals…

AND it ranks up there with the first three games of the 2005 western
conference finals against the Suns…

AND it ranks up there with the Sean Elliot memorial day miracle against the Blazers in ‘99…

AND it ranks up there with the Robert Horry three in overtime in game 4 of the finals against the pistons in ‘05 (though thats hard for me to say, even when I’m speaking absurdly, because I have a real soft spot for the 2005
Spurs team).

I don’t know whats going to happen with the rest of these playoffs (though David Stern might) but for those of y’all who got to witness that game THAT JUST HAPPENED….thats the heart of a champion right there!!!
